700 years of history. If only they could speak, the 14th century foundations would certainly have a lot to say. In the family for over 200 years and undergone many changes. Old rustic architecture left behind in favour of a more Art Nouveau style. The new double-pitched roof replaces the old traditional cover. From now on the building starts to stand out from the rest due to its architecture.
A piece of paper. Things start to take shape. Ideas and dreams. Practical considerations, but also a lot of respect. A home with special features and a meeting point for those who long for something different. A home with its roots, depiction of vitality, consistency and value.
Preserve the old 1904 character of the building and take it to the present. Create space for relaxation. To preserve authenticity is for us very important. But so is to bring something new. It’s nice to still hear the wood creaking when walking on the wooden floors. But the bedrooms must be absolutely quiet. Our desire is to share this great home with others.
The three upper floor? Almost completely emptied. The iconic truss with counter-chain? It’s not been touched. The ceilings? A composite structure made of wood and concrete. And life inside is a quiet dream. Because it is very important that rooms are soundproofed from each other. External walls and windows have all undergone restoration to make sure that they meet legal requirements. The stunning veranda has been rebuilt.
